'Heads up' email template - for Investors
Hello, and welcome to Carta!
We are thrilled that you are now a part of our growing network; as part of this network, we recommend sending a heads-up email to your investors explaining that you are migrating to the Carta platform.
Below, you’ll find our suggested template. If you like it, just copy and paste the template into your own email and send it to your security holders to help them prepare to receive their securities.
Help them take their next step in ownership management!
I am writing to let you know that [company] is moving our equity management to Carta and will now issue electronic stock certificates through Carta. I know many of you already use Carta and will find it convenient that we’re moving to the same system as your other investments. For those who are not familiar with Carta, I think you will like the easy access to your investment documents and account information.
On [date], you will get an email from Carta that will ask you to review and accept your electronic security. For our non-institutional investors, Carta recommends that you use a personal email address, so you can maintain access to the platform in the event you change employers. If you would like to change the email address we use for you or add an additional email address, please see here. For information on how to accept your security issuance, please refer to these instructions here.
Upon acceptance of the electronic Carta certificate, you will sign an affidavit, your paper certificate will be cancelled, and your security will be represented solely by the electronic certificate.
The email you receive will look something like this:
After accepting your security, you can log into Carta and view it at any time. If you have any questions, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
