Recover access to Carta account

If you have lost access to the email that is associate with your Carta account, our support team can help you add a new email address to your account with the help from the organization you are associated with on Carta.

For security reasons, we will need a third party to confirm your identity before the email addresses connected to your account can be changed.

1. If you have holdings in your Carta account, reach out to company to request identity confirmation. You can do this through the contact issuer feature in Carta. The Carta support team can also help reach out to your company on your behalf.

The company will need to confirm the following information:

  • The email address currently connected to your account (that is currently unaccessible)
  • The new email that should be associated with your account.
  • The mailing address on file

If you work with a law firm and do not have any holdings in a company, our team will need confirmation from your law firm organization (if your law firm is set up on Carta) or from the companies that you work with and have accounts on Carta.

The company or law firm will need to confirm the following information:

  • The email currently connected to your account (that is currently unaccessible)
  • The new email that should be associated with your account.
  • The companies you have access to on Carta

2. The company or law firm administrators will respond with the email and confirm all information is correct.

3. The Carta support team will add the new email address to your account and reach out to confirm the email address has been updated. You will receive an email to verify the new email. Once you have access to your account you can remove the old email.

We always recommend to add an additional email address to avoid relying on company confirmation to update email and access your account.
