Stakeholder Ledger

The stakeholder ledger allows companies to view and modify information for a person that holds multiple securities across the company.

You are able to view the stakeholder ledger under "Securities" -> "Stakeholders"

Please note - the number of stakeholders in this list includes canceled and expired securities - the number of stakeholders listed under the Stakeholder ledger is different than the number used for billing. See how stakeholders are counted for billing here.

Row action options: You can update different information for individuals from the row action options on this ledger in each stakeholder row

  • Stakeholder details: name, email, address, employee id
  • Stakeholder properties: relationship, cost center and custom properties

Manage options: You can bulk manage and update the stakeholder ledger through bulk importers as well as download reports. These options are found under the green "Manage" button in the top right corner.

Row actions:

Edit stakeholder:

If you need to correct the name or email address connected to the stakeholder, you are able to do so by clicking "Actions" -> "Edit stakeholder"

You are then able to update the information as needed. An individual stakeholder is meant to be one person. For any stakeholder that is an entity, for example a trust or fund, then the stakeholder type should be set to "Non-individual."

Please note - if the securities have already been accepted, changing the email address in the stakeholder ledger does not change the ownership of the securities. To change the email of the account that accepted the security please reach out to support@carta.com

Edit stakeholder properties:

Stakeholder properties are any details about the stakeholder that could change over time.

For example, relationship and cost center. You can also add custom stakeholder properties to track properties that are specific to your company. These custom properties can be added separately and edited using the row action.
