Capital Account Transactions

From the organization level, navigate to ‘Setup’ under the Account tab.

Select the ‘Import/Export’ button that is associated with capital account transactions.

The template will allow you to add capital contributions, distributions, syndication costs, net operating income (loss), other operating expenses, realized gain (loss), unrealized gain (loss), contingent loss allocation, management fees, in kind distributions, deemed gain, transfers, carried interest earned, carried interest accrued, and other.

Screen Shot 2017-07-26 at 1.31.48 PM.pngThe first column in the spreadsheet should include the name of the investor associated with the capital account transaction. The name must match exactly what is shown on the reference sheet.

The second column includes the label for each partner (the label is unique by fund), which it found in the Reference worksheet. The third column should lists the fund associated with the transaction. The fourth column refers to the date the transaction occurred.

Enter the type of transaction that occurred using the dropdown arrow. Input the amount of the transaction. Contributions, net operating incomes, net realized gains, and unrealized gains should be entered as positive values. Distributions, management fees, net operating losses, net realized losses, and unrealized losses should be entered as negative values.

The capital account transaction ID will be automatically generated when the spreadsheet is uploaded.

Once the information has been entered, select and import the spreadsheet.

Select ‘Fund transactions’ under the Transactions tab.

Here, you will be able to view the list of transactions associated with the fund.

If you wish to amend fund transactions after the initial upload, repeat the steps above. Existing information can be edited in the spreadsheet and new information can be added.

In order to send and print capital account statements, hover over 'Investors' and select 'Capital accounts.'Capital account statements can be generated for individual investors by selecting the dropdown tab.

You can also customize capital account statements by adjusting the date range.

After you have adjusted the date range, select the 'Generate statements' button. Statements can be generated per investor or for all investors.

Once the statement is generated, it will be available under Investors -> Partner Documents. You can navigate to this page from the toolbar at the top of the page or by clicking on 'reviewed and sent.'

You can view and print the statements by clicking on the individual statement. Selecting the box to the left of the statement will allow you to also share or delete the document.

By selecting 'Share documents,' you will have the option to send the statement to the investor.
