Entities

Within the reference data section, the entities page allows users to effectively manage entities like investors, funds, companies, real estate, general partners.

Editing entities

Click on a table row to manage all static data associated with the entity.


All entity types have these fields available for use:

  • Name*

  • Description

  • Website

  • Country

  • City

In addition, there are specialized fields for specific entity types:

For type investor:

  • Investor type

For type fund:

  • Fund size

  • Fund asset class (2 levels)

  • Vintage year

  • Geography

For type company:

  • Sector

  • All GICS levels

  • Publicly listed

  • Geographic region

For type real estate:

  • Property area

  • Property type

Creating entities

There are two ways to create new entities in the platform:

1. CSV upload

The most efficient way is to bulk upload an entities list using a .csv template. Use the 'Upload CSV' option in the ellipsis menu:


2. Adding entities manually

Use the 'Create entity' option. Define and edit the entity name, type and currency, You may also include a unique ID that can be imported from your downstream systems for seamless data integration.

Editing entities

To edit an entity manually, click on its name and edit the details;
To edit in bulk, use the CSV upload mechanism (see above)

Synonyms

To help the platform recognize entities as they appear in documents, you should define synonyms.
For example any alternate or old names, acronyms or spelling variations associated with an entity can be added as synonyms.

Deleting entities

If you have the appropriate permissions you can delete entities – either individually in the details panel, or in bulk from the Bulk action menu:
