How to add non-Carta investments to your Investments dashboard
Select Investments from the left-side menu.

Click Manage portfolio → add company.

Input the company’s name and upload any documents you have, (i.e., AOI, COI, SPA, Cap table).
Click Save and continue

To track an accurate cap table, review the extracted cap table and/or build out the cap table. If you do not have the information to build the cap table you can enter in placeholder data (i.e., common share class with 1 share outstanding). This will allow you to move forward to set up data collection for this portfolio company.
For securities, select the:
Type (common, preferred, warrants, or options),
Description (Series A, Common Stock, etc),
Total number of shares outstanding, and
Issue date (estimate ok)
For convertible notes, input the description, principal, and issue date. (Short Cut: In a later module, you will break out the convertible notes by their valuation cap and other features. It is best to group your convertible notes into similar valuation cap and add the sum of the principals.)

Using the Article of Incorporation, input the original issue price, conversion price, conversion ratio (if different than the original issue price / conversion price), and multiplier (generally 1). Additionally, input the dividend information (if applicable), and the participation information for each class of stock.

For option plans, input the exercise price, quantity, and expiration date for shares that have been allocated. (Short Cut: Sum all options with the same exercise and input as one row. Alternatively, sum all options and input with an exercise price equal to the lowest preferred price per share or at $0.0001. This makes the conservative assumption that all options will convert).

For convertible notes, input as much information that's provided. NOTE: Maturity date is required. (Short cut: these are usually 10 years after issuance).

Input your firm's holding(s) in the company. (Short cut: If you are a Fund Admin or SOI Maintenance client, information from your SOI will appear under the cap table).

Review the cap table details and click Create cap table.
Once saved, you will be able to see the non-Carta cap table within the list of investments.
