Invite company administrators: This task will lead to Teams & Permissions tab where company users can be added with various levels of account access.
Invite board members. Adding board members is an optional task but necessary in order to send out board consents on Carta. If sending consents, at least one board member should be added as a Director.
Fill out company profile: The company name, state and date of incorporation, and company address are required for account activation.
Invite legal contact: Adding a legal contact or law firm is necessary in order to verify the cap table information and activate the Carta account.
Set roles: Company contacts are designated individuals assigned responsibility for specific actions within Carta. Some roles give users specific workflow access, while others are to indicate the proper point of contact.
Set Signatories: Signatories will be required to sign securities before the account can be activated and the securities sent to holders. This includes certificates, equity awards, convertibles and warrants.
The same signatory can be selected for Certificate (1st) and Certificate (2nd), however the titles cannot be the same.
Upload documents: Carta's secure Data Rooms can be used to share relevant company data during the onboarding process. Create a data room via the steps outlined in here.
