How to manage tasks in your Dashboard

The Dashboard makes it easy for GPs to submit, track, and respond to requests, all through the Carta platform.

The Spotlight

Spotlight shows your top 3–6 Fund Administration actions at the top of your dashboard as tiles. It surfaces urgent items—like capital call approvals and active calls—so you can act quickly.

Tasks to Complete

Tasks such as reviewing an SOI, approving financials, and other requests requiring your action will be visible in the Tasks to Complete tab.

How to take action a pending task
  1. Click into the line item of the task you would like to open.

  2. You'll be directed to the applicable workflow or action item.

  3. Depending on the stage of the workflow, the task will either be completed or sent to the Fund Admin team for further action.

In-progress

Task that the Carta fund admin team are currently working on can be viewed in the In-progress tab.

Quick Actions menu
  1. Submit requests to the fund admin team by using the Quick Actions menu on the top of the dashboard.

  1. Once a request is submitted, the status can be tracked on the In-progress or Tasks to complete tab (depending on who the task is awaiting action from).

How to send a message the Fund Admin team about a specific task
  1. Click the task in the In-progress tab

  2. Click the Communication section dropdown

  3. Type your message and optionally, upload any applicable files.

  4. Click Send

  5. Your message (as well as fund admin replies) will now appear within the task details

How to manage notification settings
  1. From the Quick Actions section click More > Notification Settings.

  2. Check or uncheck the boxes to manage your preferences

  3. Click on the Firm settings tab to setup task reviewer and approver

  4. Select X in the top right to return to the Dashboard

How to view a history of completed tasks
  1. From the Dashboard, click on the Completed tab.

  2. On the next screen, click the task name to view to any relevant information.

  3. You'll see the workflow history and any communications linked to the task, just as you can with open tasks.
