How to request cap table access to a portfolio company

Investors on Carta can request access to company cap tables when they accept securities. On Carta, company cap tables are updated upon any securities transaction, so that the cap tables are always current and accurate.

From the left side panel, navigate to Tools & Services > Cap Table Access.

Check the box(es) to the left of the company/companies whose cap table(s) you would like to access, and click Request cap table access.

  • Click request access in line with the company name to request access for just that company.

Select a new access level and (optionally) send a message to the company administrator.

Review the companies you are sending the request to and click Request cap table access to send it off.

If you have already requested access with a company, you will see Requested under Cap table access level.

Remind the company of your request by clicking the three dots to the right > Remind company of request.

Optionally write a note to be sent with the reminder and click Remind company of request.

The cap table request will go to the individual(s) that the company has selected to handle investor access requests. The company can choose from several different levels of access.

Once access has been granted, you will have access to the company's real-time cap table as of any date in the company's history, such as a quarter-end or year-end for reporting purposes.

In case another level of access is needed, you are able to request a change in access by checking the box to the left of the company which you already have access in, then click Request access.

Select the level of access you wish to have, optionally add a note, and click Request cap table access.
