How to set up Single Sign-On (SSO) for Fund Administration firms

Fund Administration firms can use Single Sign-On (SSO) to let users log into Carta's Fund Administration product with their organization's existing credentials.

Unlike SSO for corporations and law firms, Fund Admin SSO is set up by Carta's support team — you don't configure it yourself. Submit a request and your IT admin will receive an invitation to complete the connection on your identity provider (IdP).

Before you begin

Have the following ready before contacting support: Identity provider — the IdP your firm uses, for example Okta, Azure AD, or OneLogin. IT admin email — the email address of the person who will configure the SSO connection on your IdP. They'll receive a setup invitation from Carta. Carta recommends setting up one firm-level SSO connection, not a separate connection per fund or portfolio company.

How to request SSO setup

  1. Reach out to the Carta Fund Administration support team to request SSO:

    • Email: investorservices@carta.com

    • Phone: +1 (801) 890-7542

  2. Share your identity provider and IT admin email with the support team. Carta uses this to configure your SSO connection.

  3. Once Carta creates the connection, your IT admin receives an email invitation to complete the configuration.

    • The invitation grants setup access only — it does not give your IT admin organizational access to Carta.

  4. Your IT admin follows the guided setup to:

    1. Verify your organization's email domain(s)

    2. Connect your identity provider (Okta, Azure AD, OneLogin, or similar)

    3. Optionally configure SCIM for automatic user de-provisioning when employees leave

After SSO is enabled
  • Users log in at login.app.carta.com/sso/login/ using their organization credentials.

  • SSO grants firm-level access only. Access to individual funds or sub-entities must be granted separately by a firm admin.

  • New users appear on the People page after their first SSO login.
