How to test changes in Carta using sandbox
A sandbox is a separate version of your Carta account that lets you test changes without impacting your live data.
Carta offers two standard sandbox environments—daily and weekly—so you can test, model transactions, and explore workflows safely before making updates in your actual account.
Check out the table below for more information on the differences between sandboxes, as well as where to access each one.
Daily | Weekly | |
---|---|---|
Data source | Copy of your Carta account from the previous day | Copy of your Carta account (refreshed weekly) |
Data refresh | Changes reset daily at 1 AM PT | Changes reset every Sunday at 1 AM PT |
Best for | Quick tests, import validation, permission checks | Multi-day testing, user training, process walkthroughs, complex transactions, equity events |
