Prohibited and Restricted Activities
The examples listed below are not exhaustive, and we reserve the right to modify or update the lists below at any time by posting a revised version to our website. The revised version will be immediately effective upon posting.
If we determine in our sole discretion that you engage or have engaged in activities that are illegal, may harm others or our reputation or operations, or violate our or others rights, including but not limited to by engaging in any of the activities below or authorizing or helping others to do so, we may deny, terminate, or suspend your use of the Carta Services (as defined in the Master Subscription Agreement).
Prohibited Activities
Pornography, adult chat, adult entertainment, or other sexually explicit products or services
Restricted Activities
Companies that are engaged in the following activities or businesses may be required to provide additional information or documentation or may be ineligible for certain Carta Services:
Production, sale, or distribution of tobacco, nicotine, or tobacco-like products
Production, sale, or distribution of marijuana, cannabis, or psychedelics
Gambling, betting, lotteries, sweepstakes, or games of chance, including casinos and card clubs (in each case, online or otherwise)
Money services businesses (MSBs), money transmitters, or online payment processors
Production, sale, or distribution of guns, accessories, ammunition, or other weapons or like-weapons of war
Virtual currencies (VC), convertible virtual currencies (CVC), or virtual currency exchanges
Precious metals and jewelry including but not limited to gold, diamonds, platinum, and rare earth stones (including but not limited to rubies and sapphires)
If you are using Carta Services that involve one of Carta’s financial institution partners, there may be additional categories of prohibited or restricted activities.
