Validating entities and network
In this step you should confirm that the system has recognized the correct set of investors, funds and companies (entities), as well as their investment relations (network).
Screen overview

The traffic light tabs show entities by their status in the document.
Use this to guide your workflow (see below)Add new entities: Opens a blank table grid where you can enter multiple entities. Press ADD TO NETWORK to save.
After adding entities you should RE-PARSE the document (see point 5) so it can be re-processed with the correct entity informationLocator buttons: Click to reveal the location of a metric on the PDF.
Note that you can also click metrics on the PDF in order to highlight their match in the table gridEDIT button: This allows you to either dismiss a record from the grid, or to edit its synonyms (to help the platform identify an entity in the document)
After adding entities you should RE-PARSE the document (see point 5) so it can be re-processed with the correct entitiesRE-PARSE button: Click to re-process the document when significant entity information has changed
NEXT button: Click to move to the next step (Validating metrics)
What is RE-PARSING?
Re-parsing sends a document back to the 'parsing' stage, where Accelex' AI identifies entities in a PDF and detects their associated metrics.
We recommend that you manually trigger re-parsing after you have made significant changes to the entity/ network settings in a document, as this may enable the system to assign metrics more accurately.
Traffic light workflow
The parser is matching entities from the document with your reference data. It then flags up various statuses. You can view all entities in one table (ALL tab), or follow the easy-to-follow traffic light system:
RED: Unknown fund or company
These are new entity (e.g. companies) which have been identified in the document, but can not be found in the reference data.
You must resolve these before you can proceed to the next step: Either add them to the reference data or dismiss them.AMBER: Missing fund or company
These entities were expected in the document due to investment reference data, but could not be identified in the document.
You should either locate and confirm these, or dismiss them, however, you can proceed without this step.
GREEN: Matched fund or company
These entities were found in the document and matched to reference data with high confidence.
You should spot-check these records for accuracy.Dismissed
Contains e.g. entities that you’ve removed from your investment portfolio, and those records that you manually dismissed from any of the other tabs
How to resolve 'Unknown' issues (RED tab):
A fund or company was detected in the document, but can not be found in the reference data

Steps to resolve
Select 'Unknown' tab
Here, you can dismiss entities or add them to a fund as appropriate. Note that all main actions can also be applied in BULK.
You will need to resolve all ‘unknown’ entities before proceeding to the next screen
Re-parsing is needed if you add new entities in this validation stage – this allows the parser to process data correctly for the new entities
TIP If a new suggestion is already present as a record in your reference data, clear the name of new entity and start typing the required record. Relevant suggestions will be displayed in a dropdown list for you to select from.
How to resolve 'Missing' issues (AMBER tab):
A fund or company was expected, but could not be found in the document

Steps to resolve
You can review these under ‘Missing’ status tab
You can add /edit synonyms for an individual entity by clicking on EDIT or ellipsis
If you have added or changed entity synonyms you need to re-parse the file. This allows Accelex to re-identify metrics according to the latest data.
Tip: You can select all ‘missing’ entities and dismiss them in bulk. Dismissed entities can be un-dismissed.
How to resolve 'unknown commitment' (only applies to Capital Accounts Statements)
Occasionally, a commitment (fund deal) can not be associate with a known fund or investor. In those cases, you can
Dismiss the suggestion
Assign the unknown commitment (deal) and its metrics to an existing fund from the ref data
Create a new commitment record (saved to ref data)
Step 1: Click on locator for an unknown commitment. That highlights all metrics on the pdf that the parser thinks belong to a new/unknown commitment.

Step 2: Resolve the unknown commitment by choosing an existing commitment from the list, by creating a brand new commitment, or dismiss the suggestion.
