Validating metrics

Exception-based workflow with traffic light system

Our exception-based workflow allows users to further reduce the validation work by focusing their attention on a pre-defined sub-set of metrics

‍

  • Matched (GREEN color code)
No alerting rules broken for metrics
    Action: Spot checks only

  • Not matched (AMBER color code)
At least one alert triggered from pre-defined filter settings
    Action: User validation recommended
    ‍

  • Not found (RED color code)
No metric candidate found by the Accelex engine, either because the metric is not automated (Free metric), not present in the document, or missed
Action: Requires manual entry, if present in the document

    ‍

Optimising your table view for asset investment data

The pivoted table view option shows values in a grid layout which matches the typical schedule of investments table. This makes it more intuitive, faster and less error-prone to verify those metrics.

Simply click the layout icons to toggle between traditional flat list view and the pivoted 'grid' view.

Set and forget – validating the 'static' metric tab

The STATIC metrics tab contains entity reference data such as country, city, GICS industry etc.
Because these are static in nature, i.e. they rarely change over time, they follow an optimized validation process, using a pivoted table grid.

  • Static metrics which are already in your reference data are displayed – but you do NOT need to review them quarter on quarter
    Action: No action required

  • Static metrics which have been found in the document for the first time, and are not yet in your ref data are shown in GREEN. By default, they will be added to your reference data amd do NOT need further validation
    Action: No action required

  • Static metrics from the document which differ from your existing reference data, are shown in AMBER below the ref data. The document metric is assumed unconfirmed and will be discarded, but you may review and confirm it if relevant
Action (optional): Review of amber metric

  • Where a metric is COMPULSORY but doesn't exist in reference data and is not found in the document, cells are highlighted in RED. Note that OPTIONAL metrics are not shown in this case.
Action (optional): Attempt to identify and complete the metric

If you wish to use the standard table view, you can pivot the view, using the view buttons at the top:

‍

Bulk table operations

Select multiple cells by clicking and dragging across the grid.
This allows you to:

  • Multiply or divide values by 1,000

  • Multiply or divide values by 1,000,000

  • Invert sign (multiply by -1)
