What happens to my securities if my company leaves Carta?
When a company leaves Carta, all outstanding securities on its cap table are marked as “canceled.”
Companies usually leave Carta when they:
Switch to a new transfer agent (e.g., going public)
Are acquired
Are dissolved
Change their entity type (e.g., converting from an LLC to a C-Corp, which requires offboarding and re-onboarding)
